Johnson Chang is a curator, gallery owner and author. He runs the ‘Hanart TZ Gallery’, which was one of the first spaces in Hong Kong that showed contemporary Chinese art in the 80s. His interest goes far beyond: He also works on classical Chinese art as well as philosophical questions. Over the years his interest has turned towards curating and teaching.

He is one of the curators of the Guangzhou Triennial in September 2008. Recently, Johnson Chang has been teaching art critique and curating at the "National Academy of Fine Arts" at Hangzhou
