Kulturhaus Villa Sträuli in Winterthur, Switzerland and the Sulzberg Foundation are inviting visual, performing and interdisciplinary artists to apply for a residency that will run from 14 April – 14 July 2023.

The grant takes place in the context of their theme for 2023, ‘From Earth’, with a focus on nature, art and ecological systems, as well as environmental and sustainability issues within the artistic discourse.

Established in 1999, Villa Sträuli is a non-profit contemporary art centre in the city of Winterthur, Canton Zurich, supporting artistic practice and encouraging interdisciplinary approaches. The residency programme has been conceived to:

Nurture cross-disciplinary knowledge.
Enhance artists’ careers by providing them the opportunity to explore a new artistic context, market, community, and culture.
Develop strategies for collaboration and inclusion of residents in various national platforms, while building a network of practitioners and professionals in the field to new opportunities for collaboration in Zurich and beyond.
Build sustainable partnerships that support artists’s career path, development, and future international artistic activity.

The artist will benefit from a financial assistance of 500 CHF for production costs associated with the residence and 1300 CHF for living expenses each month (43 CHF per day).
