The Saari Residence in Mynämäki, Southwest Finland, has an Open Call for the 2027 Residency Programme for professional artists, duos and groups.
In 2027, a major renovation will be underway at Saari Residence. As a result, the residents’ studios and one of the residential buildings will be out of use. Due to the renovation, fewer residency places than usual will be available in 2027, and work will take place in the apartments.
During the individual residency periods, the residency offers a programme supporting artistic work, including presentation and feedback sessions, excursions or discussions related to sustainability and ecology, and opportunities for mentoring. The artists have an opportunity to present their work in the local community space Saareke.
The two-month individual residency periods are January to February 2027, March to April 2027, September to October 2027 and November to December 2027. From June to mid-August, all residency facilities are reserved for 2–4 week working periods for artistic working groups.
The residencies are intended for individual professional artists and artist duos, fiction writers, poets, translators, composers, curators, critics and artistic collectives of all disciplines and all nationalities for the purpose of carrying out a project proposal presented in advance. Applicants may apply for either an individual residency or a group residency (3–10 people).

The residencies include accommodation, a workspace and a monthly grant, the sum of which is determined by the applicant’s professional experience (2,700 EUR / 3,200 EUR / 3,800 EUR per month). The purpose of the grant is to cover the cost of living, travel costs and other expenses. Applicants can apply for ecological travel support, slow travel support or support for travels from Global South, if they are coming to the Saari Residence from outside of Finland. It is possible to apply for funding for overnight stays in affordable accommodation if necessary.
