In advisory services offered by artists' associations, questions are often asked about customs modalities, such as the transportation of artworks between Germany and Switzerland and vice versa - a constellation that is also partly transferable to many other projects, as it is also a matter of “EU and third country” between Germany and Switzerland.
Many independent artists who are not represented by galleries or receive no support from institutions are left to their own devices to transport their works to the other country and/or sell them there.
Together with IAA National Committee Visarte Switzerland, the professional association for the visual arts, the IGBK is offering a “lunch session” to highlight important administrative steps regarding import and export formalities and VAT regulations using checklists and case studies, and to gather ideas from those involved. Afterwards, individual questions can be asked.
The advisory services offered by Visarte, the IGBK and touring artists support artists in their day-to-day and international work.
The meeting is aimed at artists from Switzerland and Germany - but of course also at all other interested parties - and will be held in German.
