Wednesday, 2 December 2026, 5-6.30 pm (CET) via Zoom | touring artists and IGBK
What options are available to non-EU nationals graduating from an art university in Germany who wish to stay in the country and continue working as artists?

Free participation upon registration (in German, until 1 December 2026)
Sebastian Hoffmann from the touring artists helpdesk team and information portal will provide an overview of the available options, with a particular focus on residence permits for freelance artists. Further topics will include pathways to permanent residency and naturalisation, as well as mobility within the EU in these contexts.
The info session is aimed at artists directly affected by these issues, but especially also at persons and organisations who wish to support and inform them at the regional level, for example through artists’ associations, advice centres and higher education institutions. This is because local authorities play an important role in implementing residence regulations. Their administrative practices and the specific requirements in individual cases are particularly relevant for artists and those who support them.
The info session will be held in German. Questions can also be asked in English.
IGBK Info Sessions 2026
In 2026, IGBK continues to offer digital info sessions on current questions concerning cross-border artistic work in Germany, its neighboring countries, and transnational calls. In one- to two-hour information and networking meetings, thematic focuses will be presented and discussed.
The IGBK invites partner organizations (e.g., other IAA Europe National Committees, European Partners) to present their offers and work, report on their specific local context, and engage in open exchange with artists and cultural practitioners.
These online sessions aim to make current projects and opportunities more accessible to a wider audience, provide know-how transfer for artists, and strengthen collaboration among European partners.
