WERKSTATT ALTENA gives young artists the opportunity to further develop and consolidate their artistic skills following their studies. The scholarship is intended to enable them to work free of financial constraints during this important phase.
The 2025 scholarship has a duration of six months and spans the period from June 1 to November 30, 2025. During this time, the scholarship holder will receive a monthly maintenance allowance of €700.

It is expected that the scholarship holder will live and work predominantly in Altena for the duration of the scholarship, so that the accommodation and workspaces that we provide free of charge will be used. Thanks to the cooperation with local industrial and craft businesses, there is a wide range of interesting work opportunities, which makes the stay in Altena attractive beyond the charming location of the town in a wooded landscape.
