The Akademie Schloss Solitude supports young artists, academics and young cultural professionals through residency fellowships.

Fellowships are awarded to persons who are not older than 40 years or whose university degree was completed no longer than five years ago. Students enrolled at a university cannot be included in the selection. Doctoral students are eligible to apply. Some scholarships are awarded according to a special regulation without age limit. Within the framework of a scholarship, there is the possibility to realise a project. Every 24 months, 50 to 65 scholarship holders are selected. There are 45 studios and three guest studios available for them.

As a rule, scholarships are awarded for a period of six, nine or twelve months.

In principle, group applications are permitted.

Applicants who are not accepted in a selection procedure can apply again for a maximum of two further calls for applications. Former fellows of the Akademie Schloss Solitude are excluded from the application process.

Language skills in German and/or English and/or French are required.

The Solitude fellowship is an attendance fellowship: it is required that the fellows spend at least two thirds of their fellowship period at the Akademie.
