The next touring artists / International Artists Info Berlin (IAIB) MONTHLY MEET-UP is coming up on 22 November 2022, this time again in person at the ITI Germany office in Berlin!

Focus: Rehearsal and work spaces in Berlin.

A.o. with inputs by

https://www.proberaumplattform-berlin.de/ |The Rehearsal Space Platform of the Berlin Performing Arts Program (Proberaumplattform des Performing Arts Programm Berlin) is a free web portal where room operators can offer their rehearsal spaces for rent and artists can use the search tool to find and request a suitable space for their project in and around Berlin. Almost 300 spaces are available for rent - from professionally equipped halls or theaters to small studios and ateliers.

Online, the Rehearsal Space Platform brings together supply and demand since 2015 and opens a communication channel that extends beyond the digital connection: through regular events, the rehearsal space platform enables networking and constant exchange between the involved actors. Since several years, the platform is hosting the Proberaum Café and organizing individual workshops with experts who clarify insurance, administrative or technical issues as well as round tables, consultations and panel discussions in cooperation with LAFT Berlin and other initiatives. The Rehearsal Space Platform will be introduced by Jan-Tage Kühling, Assistance Program Direction at Performing Arts Programm Berlin.

https://www.landesmusikrat-berlin.de/service/raumkoordination/ | The Berlin State Music Council supports the many institutions and associations forming Berlin’s vibrant music scene. The council advocates for and coordinates the political interests of its members. It provides counsel to the Berlin state government (Senat) as well as to the parties represented in the state’s House of Delegates (Abgeordnetenhaus). In its own projects, the Berlin State Music Council plays an active role in Berlin’s cultural scene, focussing especially on the young, as well as on emerging musical talent.

One of the projects of the Berlin State Music Council is the office for coordination of rehearsal and performance space for amateur musicians (Raumkoordination für die Amateurmusikszene) in Berlin. Sonja Schaudt is one of the project managers and will share details of the project, how it works and how you can use it for your benefit.

https://kulturraeume.berlin/ueber-uns/ | In 2020, Kultur Räume Berlin was founded to secure workspaces for the independent art scene with the help of a strong network. Kultur Räume Berlin is an alliance consisting of senate administration, independent art scene, non-profit real estate sector, and the specially founded Kulturraum Berlin GmbH. Together they are working against the displacement of independent artists due to rising rents and a lack of available spaces. They achieve this by developing, securing and allocating subsidised artistic workspaces to professional Berlin-based artists.  Kultur Räume will be presented by Jenny Nilén, Communication Officer at Kulturraum Berlin GmbH.
