The Internationale Gesellschaft der Bildenden Künste (IGBK) supports exchange among artists worldwide and promotes dialogue across borders in the visual arts, broadening perspectives and creating new spaces for experience and connection.

This exchange not only enriches artistic practice but also fosters artistic freedom, freedom of expression, and critical discourse. Cross-border collaboration strengthens openness and contributes to cultural and social diversity. In doing so, it makes an important contribution to democracy and tolerance.

Through our projects, our services and our work within international and European networks, we actively uphold these values. We help improve the economic and social conditions of artistic work and mediate between national and international levels in this context.

It is our goal to remove barriers and mobility hurdles in international artistic cooperation. We strive to develop sustainable alternatives to conventional forms of international exchange in the visual arts and to make them more inclusive and climate-conscious.
