Res Artis and the IGBK hosted a regional meeting in November 2024 for Res Artis members based in Germany and other interested artist-in-residence programs. Representatives from 18 artist residencies attended the meeting, as well as Jamieson Pierce (Res Artis Membership Coordinator) and IGBK team members and delegates.
Topics discussed included mental health and wellbeing in the context of organizing AiR programs, difficulties in obtaining visas for artists in residencies, low funding, and digital networking/creating forums for joint collaboration and support. As one participant said: “The future of culture lies in collaboration.”
Jamieson Pearce reported on the recent Res Artis conference in Taiwan in 2024. The IGBK presented the current status of the revised touring artists funding database.
Further meetings are planned for 2025 and new participants have shown interest in helping to coordinate meetings.
