Conference 24 May 2024 in Berlin and Stockholm
Hosted by IGBK together with the Artists' Associaton of Sweden, and in partnership with IAA Europe and On the Move, the visual artists | diverse conditions conference featured interconnected round tables in both Berlin and Stockholm.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in this exchange!
Valuable contributions, whether in-person or via Zoom, made this event a success.
Our special thanks go to our partners in Sweden and to On The Move, both of whom did an excellent job of moderating the discussions on that day. Our thanks also go to Pham, Minh Duc for the artistic performance during the conference.
Representatives of national and European artists' associations, visual artists, experts, and cultural politicians engaged in meaningful discussions on diversity aspects in the visual arts in Europe.
There were many personal testimonials to be heard as well as input on the three focus blocks we had set ourselves for this day: With a view to diversity issues, we discussed the topics of social security and pensions, associations and structures as well as funding and workspaces as framework conditions for artistic work in Europe.
We are currently working on the documentation of the entire visual artists | diverse conditions 2023/ 2024 project, which is due to be published at the end of this year.
