Since 1989, the Young Art Scholarship of the Old Hanseatic City of Lemgo has been awarded annually to a visual artist within the framework of a competition. The scholarship is offered by the Old Hanseatic City of Lemgo. Since 1998/99, the city and the Staff Foundation have been joint organisers.
Young artists from the fields of painting, graphic art, sculpture and photography who are resident in Germany and are not older than 35 can take part. For the duration of one year, the scholarship holder is provided with a studio in the city centre free of charge. In addition, a monthly maintenance allowance is granted.
At the end of the stay, a final exhibition will be held in the Eichenmüllerhaus Municipal Gallery; a catalogue will be published. Within the framework of the scholarship, the Staff Foundation also supports the gallery building. Detailed information on participation, the application procedure and the jury can be obtained from the Cultural Office of the City of Lemgo.
