Yearly application deadline 30th September for the following year. We’ve been offering the Artist in Residence Program since 2018 and each year, we award at least five spots. Goals of the Residency Program: 1. To promote the diverse artistic exploration of Lauscha – the city of glass. 2. To connect national and international Artists/Makers with the local/regional art and creative scene. 3. To provide input and inspiration for the international glass scene, as well as that of Lauscha. Ideally the residence program will contribute to the reissuing and continuation of international glass symposia in Lauscha. The Federal Cultural Foundation and the Thuringian State Chancellery have provided start-up funding for the establishment of the residency and the launch of the program. The Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Thuringia has been funding the program since 2018. During their one-month residency, artists receive free accommodation and private studio usage, as well as a €1,000 grant. Networking with local artists is encouraged. At the end of the residency, a closing exhibition will be organized together. In consultation with the Lauscha Glass Museum, exhibitions can also be possible there. Selection criteria - Due to Lauscha's history being strongly anchored in glass, we expressly welcome applications from glass artists - of any kind! - Artists from any other discipline such as drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, graphics, video, sound, photography, interdisciplinary, etc. are also welcome to apply. There are no limits in terms of artistic disciplines. We look forward to a diverse range of applicants. - Applicants who have not submitted a proposal will not be considered.
