© Residency 2.0.: Exploring Porcelain
For four months, the grant winners can expand on their work with porcelain at HPM with an artistic project - they are expected to work on site at least four days a week. During their stay, they will work on its conception, realisation, exhibition and documentation. They are invited to make innovative use of the practical possibilities of the manufactory and to enter into dialogue with students, teachers, each other and the local people in workshops, lectures, evening events and exhibitions. The residency team welcomes and accompanies the scholarship holders through the programme. Applicants are welcome to discuss with us in advance of their application how they need or would like to be accompanied during the residency. We will then clarify individual conditions or provide support in the search for accommodation, etc
In the residency programme, the porcelain artists are provided with a studio with work and material equipment. The scholarship holders can use HPM's production facilities and workshops.
The production area of the Höchster Porzellanmanufaktur comprises: Mould making, casting, embossing and painting. In addition to the 2.3 m3 gas kiln, suitable for annealing and glost firing up to 1400°, there are 60 litre electric chamber kilns in which annealing, decorative firing and glaze firing can take place. Work equipment and materials are provided.
