Tuesday, 10 March, 4-5.30 p.m. (CET) via Zoom | Healing Culture Network e.V. and IGBK

Free participation after prior registration (until 09 March 2026)
In the first IGBK info session of 2026, we will focus on the topic of art and health, including contributions from the Healing Culture Network, part of the EU-project CultureAndHealth Platform. This session is aimed at anyone interested in current developments at the intersection of art and health.
“Healing Culture describes a field of action that releases synergies when health care AND culture cooperate. The initiative (…) spans a wide range of projects from healthcare (Arts in Health), culture and community (Culture for Health and Wellbeing, Social Prescribing), to research - especially in the context of neuroscience (Neuroarts).”
Since November 2024, the EU-funded platform was launched to support artists working at the intersection of culture, health, and social engagement with grants and mobility opportunities until October 2028. Members from over 15 European countries participate. The Healing Culture Network is the German partner and will present its current work during the info session.
We will also hear an international contribution from the network to discuss, from a comparative perspective, the opportunities and perhaps also the limits of cooperation between healthcare and culture or artists – including a look at concrete project and funding models, as well as inspiration for participants’ own work.
Since mid-January, the second national call for proposals for Germany lead by the Healing Culture Network together with humaQ as part of the EU Culture and Health Platform project has been open for artistic projects at the intersection of art, health, and society in Germany. Projects from and within Germany are invited that promote well-being, generate creative impulses in healthcare, social, or educational contexts, or work interdisciplinarily, e.g., with healthcare staff or medical professionals.
During the info session, the call will be presented in more detail, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions in an open Q&A. (Deadline for submissions: March 31, 2026)
Contributions include, among others, Insa Schrader (Healing Culture Network, Germany).
The input from the Healing Culture Network will be given in German, and another contribution from the international context will be in English. Questions are welcome in German or English.
The info session is aimed at artists of all disciplines, cultural practitioners, and stakeholders from healthcare, social, and educational fields who work or wish to work at the intersection of art, health, and society. We look forward to exchanging ideas with you.
Info Sessions 2025/26
In 2026, the IGBK will continue to offer digital info sessions on current questions concerning cross-border artistic work in Germany, its neighboring countries, and transnational calls. In one- to two-hour information and networking meetings, thematic focuses will be presented and discussed.
The IGBK invites partner organizations (e.g., other IAA Europe National Committees) to present their offers and work, report on their specific local context, and engage in open exchange with artists and cultural practitioners.
These online sessions aim to make current projects and opportunities more accessible to a wider audience, provide know-how transfer for artists, and strengthen collaboration among European partners.
