Luciana Moniz (Salvador, Bahia, 1970) was in Law School between 1991 and 1996 at the Federal University of Bahia, where she has a degree (2016) and a Master's degree (2019) in Museology.

She was executive director of the Museum of Modern Art of Bahia between 2013 and 2015, and advisor to the direction of this museum between 2008 and 2012. She was also executive director of the 3rd Bahia Biennial in 2014.

She has experience in the areas of art museum, contemporary art, communication and cultural projects. Her research involves the relationships between art, heritage, human development and the common good, at the Museu do Mato, rural area of Mucugê, Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, Brazil, where part of her family comes from.
