Lucrecia Urbano (Córdoba, Argentina, 1968) is an Argentinean artist, curator and cultural activist. She received a BFA from the National University of Córdoba, with a major in printmaking. She has specialized in non-toxic photogravure and digital graphics at the Canadian School for Non-toxic Printmaking in Alberta, Canada, Pyramid Atlantic, Maryland, United States and CFPR, Bristol, England. She has been a Visiting Lecturer at the National University of Cordoba, Arg. (UNC); the National University of La Plata, Arg. (ULP); Armando Alvarez Penteado Foundation, San Pablo (FAAP) and the Parque Lage Visual Art School , Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and at the KHiO Oslo National Academy of Art, Norway.

Her personal work is research oriented and combines non-toxic printmaking, photography, video, digital prints, glass and installations. Her major awards include 42º Premio Internacional de Arte Gráfico Carmen Arozena, Madrid, Spain (2014), Bonifacio del Carril Award – National Academy of Arts (2007); First Mention, IV Bienal Argentina de Gráfica Latinoamericana, Bs.As. (2006); Honor Diploma in the 12th Tallinn Graphic Art Triennial, Estonia (2002) and the III Bienal Internacional de Bellas Artes de Lima, Perú. (1997). She had solo shows in Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Estonia and England. Urbano has participated in group exhibitions, such as 14º Tallinn Graphic Art Triennial, Estonia (2007); Premio Argentino de Artes Visuales, Osde Foundation, Bs. As.(2005); ID International_ Art Basel Miami, USA (2004) and the Estampa International Print Fair, Madrid (2002). Urbano has been a resident artist at the Centre for Fine Print Research, UWE, Bristol, England (2003); the Tallinna Kunstihoone, Estonia (2003); the Atelier Presse Papier, Quebec, Canada (2001) and the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba (2001).

Urbano curated several projects including Acciones Transformadoras: Gabriel Chaile & Paulo Nazareth. Lala Contemporary, 1ST Biennial of Contemporary Art, Toronto, Canada, (2019). Austrocedrus Contemporary Art in Open Sky, Bariloche, Arg, (2010); Poste-Puente Project, Centre of Brazilian Studies, Bs As, Arg. (2007); Besando Ranas, Borges Cultural Center, Bs As, Arg.; Galeria del Poste, Ricardo Rojas Cultural Centre, Buenos Aires University (UBA) Bs.As, Arg. (2005-2006); ABC-Gráfica Actual, International Exchange Project - Argentina, Brazil and Canada- (2010-2000).

Lucrecia Urbano is the Founder and Director of Zona Imaginaria, a contemporary print studio, located in the outskirts of Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she carries out workshops for children and adults. She also runs the International Artist Residency Who can live in this house? where guest artists and the local community are strongly linked hosting workshops, collaborative research and exhibitions that focus on interpersonal relationships connecting the local community with visiting artists, educators and curators.
